It reproduces traditional dwellings and offers demonstrations of dances and other cultural activities. It is situated near Johannesburg, within the Cradle of Humankind, in Gauteng, South Africa. A visit to the Village will give a good understanding of the culture of some of the people in South Africa. (Tour includes a buffet style meal). Experience the traditions of the Ndebele, pedi, Xhosa, Basotho and the Zulu people.

A warm welcome with singing and dancing awaits you when you arrive. The discovery begins at the Ndebele village where the introduction to the cultural experience precedes a multi-media presentation on the history and origins of today’s rainbow nation. This is followed by a guided tour of the other four ethnic homesteads – Zulu, Basotho, Xhosa and Pedi.

After all the activities Guests are treated to a Pan African Buffet in the Nyama Choma Restaurant – “The Greatest African Feast”! Ethnic dishes, a fusion of Pan African cuisine all complemented by warm, traditional service will be enjoyed and experienced. Lesedi invites visitors to enjoy a gastronomic feast of African dishes from the far corners of Africa in its three-tiered restaurant, Nyama Choma, which means the Great African Feast. The 160-seater restaurant with its authentic setting and vibrant decor offers an exotic buffet with meat delicacies ranging from ostrich to unusual fare such as crocodile. Lesedi and its cultural experience of old and new Africa was co-founded by African explorer, Kingsley Holgate, who is renowned for his vast knowledge and passion for keeping the traditional African culture alive and who ensures that every attraction is not only fascinating, but enriching. One of Lesedi’s many differentiating factors is the village’s natural and tasteful incorporation into the surrounding heart of the bushveld and rocky hills. Discover the spirit of "Ubuntu” at this unique cultural venue where the music, song and warmth of Africa’s hospitality awaits.

There is also an African Lodge where clients can overnight, a new edition is the luxury Nguni rooms. These rooms have decorated double suites. These carry the same vibrant colours and energy as the other guestrooms in the village and are also unique to the Zulu tribe they represent, adding to the existing accommodation options.
